New Moon, Venus Enters Sagittarius, Mercury Retrograde Ends

The New Moon will be on Sunday, Dec 17, @ 2 deg Sagittarius. This marks the beginning of the Hindu Lunar Month Pushya, named for the nakshatra (lunar sign) of the Full Moon, Pushyami. Except that this year the Full Moon will fall in Ardra (on Jan 1), a decidedly less favorable nakshatra, indicating the energy of the lunar month will be less auspicious than usual. Additionally, the New Moon will be closely conjunct Saturn, giving The Reality Check planet a strong influence over the coming lunar month.
Venus Enters Sidereal Sagittarius on Wednesday, Dec 20. The planet of Romance, Pleasure, & Agreement leaves secretive conspiratorial Scorpio and enters a more optimistic enthusiastic sign for the next three weeks. However, as soon as it enters Sagittarius, Venus will be conjunct Saturn, the planet of Limitation and Obligation. Therefore the energy pattern for the holiday season has the planet of Pleasures seriously Restricted by the planet of Realities. The exact conjunction of Venus and Saturn is on Monday, Dec 25, @ 6 deg Sagittarius. Other significations of Venus, such as Agreement, Compromise, Finance, will be similarly burdened by serious considerations. Simultaneously Venus is Combust the Sun (see previous post). Venus remains in Sagittarius until Jan 13.
Mercury Retrograde Ends on Friday, Dec 22, @ 18 deg Scorpio. The planet of Communication, Rational Thinking, Reasons & Explanations, Making Decisions, etc., will slowly return to normal forward motion over the coming week. Mercury remains in Scorpio until January 6.
