Venus Conjunct New Moon, Opposite Saturn

The New Moon is on Saturday, June 4, @ 20 deg Taurus. This marks the beginning of the Hindu Lunar Month Jyeshtha, named for the nakshatra (lunar sign) of the Full Moon, which will be on June 20. Except that this year, the Full Moon will be in the next nakshatra, Mula. Therefore, the energy of the month takes on the quality of Mula, a Fierce sign which is known for Extreme Actions.
Venus, in its own sign Taurus, will be exactly conjunct the New Moon. The exact association with its sign ruler puts emphasis on the Venus significations this month: Romance, Pleasures, Sociability, Appearance, Guidance. But unfortunately, Retrograde Saturn is nearly exactly opposite Venus and the New Moon. Thus the planet of Harsh Reality, Obligation, Restriction, Delay, etc. obstructs the potential of the Venus New Moon. This lunation is also exactly square to Jupiter, which is at 20 deg in Leo. The square aspect of Jupiter to the New Moon indicates some challenges during the month from Jupiter significations: Religion, Beliefs, Ideology, etc.

Mercury Retrograde Ends, Venus opposite Mars

Mercury goes back to direct motion on Sunday, May 22nd, @ 20 deg Aries. The planet of Communications has been "backwards" in Aries since April 28th. Mercury's significations will gradually return to normal over the coming week: Better Understanding, Clearer Thinking, Fewer Mistakes. Mercury stays in Aries until June 7th.
Venus is exactly opposite Retrograde Mars on Tuesday, May 24th. Venus will be @ 6 deg Taurus; Mars @ 6 deg Scorpio. Mars is close to the Earth, therefore strong for effects. Venus is weak due to being deeply combust the Sun. Therefore Venus significations suffer this week: Difficulty making Agreements, Financial Markets likely Down, Problems with Romance, etc.

Venus Enters Taurus, Venus Opposite Mars

Venus changes signs, entering Taurus, on Thursday, May 19th. Venus rules Taurus; a planet in its own sign is strong. The significations of Venus, as well as Taurus (and the house containing Taurus in your own chart), should benefit from this situation for the next few weeks. But, there are a couple of problems: Venus is getting closer and closer to the Sun, i.e., entering into Deep Combustion. Therefore, Venus and its significations are getting "burnt up" (see previous post). This condition weakens Venus and its potential for creating benefits.
As soon as Venus enters Taurus, it is directly across the Heavens from Mars, the "attack planet" which is transiting opposite in the sign Scorpio. Mars is retrograde and in its own sign, therefore powerful. Mars also carries the energy of retrograde Saturn, which accompanies Mars in Scorpio, making the aspect of Mars especially malefic.
Thus, the significations of Venus will suffer for the next couple of weeks. Compromise and Agreement will be More Difficult to achieve. Love and Romance will hit a Rough Patch. Financial Markets will be Stressed. The exact opposition of Mars to Venus is on May 24. By the end of the month, Venus will be enough advanced in Taurus to not be suffering so much from Mars, but by then Venus will be in near exact conjunction with the Sun.

Venus Becomes Combust

Venus becomes Combust this week. When a planet gets so close to the Sun that we can't see it, it becomes "combust the Sun" and its significations get "burnt up." Venus has been visible in the East before sunrise for the last several months. Now as it gets closer than 8 degrees from the Sun, it will disappear from view for nearly two months, until it advances enough in the zodiac to get past the Sun.
Venus is the planet of Guidance. When we can't see Venus, "We are Without Guidance." Therefore it is not a good time to get counsel from a lawyer.
Venus is the planet of Value. When we can't see Venus it's Harder to Determine True Value. Therefore this is not a good time for making important purchases.
Venus is the planet of Fairness. When Venus is overwhelmed by the planet of Power and Authority, Fairness and Equality are harder to achieve. Venus will be combust until the first week of July, when it will reappear as the "evening star" in the West after sunset.
